Historical Information
1. How long has ESP been running?
ESP has been running summer programs since 1957.
ESP ran its first summer program in 1957, a program called "SSP," the Summer Studies Program. This was a non-residential summer program on the MIT campus much in the spirit of today's HSSP. At the time, ESP was part of a larger umbrella student organization, TCA (this acronym stood first for "Tech Christian Association" and then "Tech Community Association"). After the breakup of TCA, ESP became its own student group.
Junction and MESH were former ESP programs. MESH was a residential summer program that ran from 1995 through 1998. ESP has no plans to restart MESH in the near future.
