2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the group that is now the MIT Educational Studies Program. This page has information about the event marking that anniversary. There will be more informal gatherings to come.
ESP 50th Anniversary Information
ESP alumni (previous teachers and directors of our programs) from around the USA have been invited to an informal event at MIT on Saturday, Sep. 15.
Information for Attendees
If you would like to come and have not already RSVPed, please do so immediately by e-mailing the ESP chairmen. You can bring along a family member or two if you'd like; please mention how many guests are coming with you if this is the case.
We suggest that you make a $100 donation (in the form of a check to MIT ESP) to help subsidize the cost of the event.
Schedule of Events
Choose your favorite events; they will all be in the MIT student center unless otherwise noted. The morning events are:
- presentation and discussion of the ESP web site with the webmasters
- walking tour of Splash
The next event, Firehose, will consist of four hobby/interest-type seminars taught by current members of ESP. We haven't decided exactly what the seminars will be about; you'll get to decide on the 15th once we have complete information! You can expect that the subjects will include audio and biology.
Finally, in the afternoon:
- discussion of the future of ESP
- chocolate tour of Boston with ESP teachers
