Brief Biographical Sketch:
I am a senior at MIT studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I have particular interests in artificial intelligence, signal processing, and software engineering. Other subjects I enjoy learning are US foreign and social policy and psychology. For fun I like to hang out with friends, go out into Boston, watch a good movie, and read the news or a good book. I enjoy good conversation with people especially over food. I also like working on big team projects like the autonomous robot competition at MIT. I also like to weightlift, swim, and run whenever I can. A lot of events in our life seem random or impossible to predict. However, with probability theory we can learn more about these things to solve interesting problems that range from the lottery to diagnosing medical diseases. By teaching you basic principles and more advanced topics about theorems and models, this class will give you the tools to see the world in a different way that may not be intuitive but is proved by the math behind it.
