Brief Biographical Sketch:
I've studied Japanese History and Japanese for 4-5 years. I also taught a year-long Japanese History class for 13 to 17-year-olds. Over the past couple years, I've also taught a Samurai Literature course and a Japanese Language/Culture course, each a semester long.
My experience includes presenting panels at Arisia, Anime Boston, ConnectiCon and Otakon related to Japanese History and Culture - namely How to Become a Samurai in 1 Hour, How to Become a Ninja in 1 Hour, True History Behind Samurai Anime, Ninja: Myth Meets Reality and Days of the Wolves of Mibu: Shinsengumi.
I also like writing and am currently working on a Japanese historical novel set in the 1860s, focusing on the Shinsengumi during the tumultuous time that spelled the end of the Tokugawa period, and brought about the new Meiji era.
