Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hello thar, matey! My name's Melissa Piper Hunt, and I'm a sophomore at MIT majoring in biology with an interest in neuroscience and EECS applications.

My activities have always been many and varied - before MIT, I was a horseback rider for over a decade, a master orange belt taking lessons at Red Dragon Karate, a pilot (solo endorsed), and an active in KIWIN'S (a subpart of Key Club).

Since coming to MIT, I have continued with the martial arts and community service (the second through two organizations - Alpha Phi Omega, a coed nonresidential community service fraterinity, and MedLinks, a student health organization providing over-the-counter medications and peer counseling on campus). Unfortunately, riding and flying will probably have to wait until graduation.

But I keep a full schedule - apple picking with my dorm (East Campus), orienteering with friends, retreats with the LBGT group, cooking class - whatever looks interesting. I am a fun-lover, simple as that ^.^

If I'm not teaching a class during an ESP event, I'm likely doing security. This means I'm one of those lovely people in funny hats guiding students to their classrooms (as well as doing a little grunt work).
