Day-Of Spring HSSP
Your schedule and rosters are at esp.mit.edu/teacheronsite
Timeline
- Check-in at HSSP HQ (1-134) at least 30 minutes before the start time of your first class. If you're running late, call us at (617)-253-4882.
- 5 minutes before the start time (not earlier, since the previous class may be in session)
- Double-check your schedule, since locations might have changed.
- Once two adults (co-teachers or observers) are in your classroom, let students in.
- Everyone in the classroom should have a name tag saying they're an HSSP teacher, volunteer, or student. If someone without a name tag is in the classroom, ask them to leave, or call HQ.
- An exception is MIT personnel, who won't have name tags.
- 5 minutes after the start time: Start your class
- If your co-teacher or observer didn’t arrive and you are the only adult, contact us.
- 5 minutes before the end time: Dismiss your class
- Restore the classroom to the state it was when you arrived, including returning desks and chairs to where they started.
- Don't remove anything from the room that you didn't bring, and erase chalkboards for the next teacher.
If you’re observing a class
You can see the classes you are observing on your schedule.
- There must be two background-checked adults in each class at all times. You agreed to observe and must be present for the full class period.
- If you observe anything that feels off (e.g. inappropriate content or student interaction, etc.), contact us immediately, and include as much detail as possible.
Other Information
