Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a first year student at MIT interested in the intersection between finance and computer science. Outside of classes, I do research on venture capital and am an active member in the Sloan Business Club. In my free time, I enjoy cooking all sorts of food and playing the bassoon.

Finance is a broad field of finance that ranges from investment bankers to corporate finance to financial planning and so much more. As a high schooler, where do you begin to figure out which, if any, are right for you? In this course, we will teach you the basics of finance from as many areas as we can, including net present value analysis, corporate finance, venture financing, stocks, bonds, and options. We will also end each class with a short, in-depth discussion about one particular career in finance. Buckle up cowboys, this is gonna be a wild ride.

So you’ve heard about finance... but what does that ~actually~ mean? Come join our team of Sloan Business Club members to learn about general finance topics in an interactive 50-min session. After a brief lecture introducing you to the world of finance, you will engage in small groups with one of our members who will provide you with some tools to conduct simple analyses on potential investments.
