S6092: The Physics of Skydiving in Splash! 2012 (Nov. 17 - 18, 2012)
Sometimes physics really is life or death. Gravity, fluid flow, drag, resistance, and angular momentum aren't really that exciting sounding, but for those of us who jump out of perfectly good airplanes, they matter a lot! Come learn about freefall, BASE jumping, wingsuits, parachutes, and everything in between with an MIT PhD student and licensed skydiver. There will be awesome videos, skydiving equipment, and sweet jumpsuits (and a few equations).
