Read too many fluffy science news articles on exoplanet discoveries and wondered what *actually* goes into locating and characterizing an exoplanet? We'll cover the standard methods for locating exoplanets and derive basic physical relationships we can use to figure out their planetary and orbital properties. Then, we'll look at some real data from the Kepler mission, and apply what we've learned to extract useful information from it.
