Brief Biographical Sketch:

I'm a MIT junior studying Chemistry and Music. I love to play piano and compose electronic music, and also love to play soccer. I'm English, but have no accent and I also like to cook! I hope to one day start a company to create ideas that will integrate Chemistry and Biology with other disciplines to help people. I would also like to perhaps be a small school professor one day!

S2963: Molecular Biology: FUNdamentals and Medical Applications in Splash! 2009 (Nov. 21 - 22, 2009)
For the first half of the class we will be reviewing the basics of molecular biology and then, for the second half, we will go into some interesting examples of applications in medicine based on what we learned in the first half.

S1966: Molecular Biology: FUNdametals and Medical Applications in Splash! 2008 (Nov. 22 - 23, 2008)
The first half of the class will teach the fundamentals of molecular biology in a simplified manner. What do DNA, RNA, and proteins do in the cell and why is this awesome/important? We will then build on the fundamentals to talk about a few interesting examples of how scientists (from many fields and diciplines) are taking our knowledge of molecular biology to understand disease and find medical treatments.
