Parents’ Lounge
This year, we will have a parent’s lounge (located in the Mezzanine Lounge on the third floor of the MIT student center) where your parents can meet other parents or do work. The lounge will have extension cords and wireless access if they wish to bring a laptop. Your parents are also welcome to take a campus tour, visit the MIT museum, go see a movie (we’ll have a list of currently playing movies at the help desk), or look into various events around Boston.
Throughout the weekend, we will be running several seminars and workshops for parents about parenting, education, current issues and more. A list of the offerings is below; they can get a full schedule when they arrive.
You should make arrangements with your parents ahead of time for when and where they should pick you up at the end of the day. Except in the case of an emergency, we will not help your parents locate you during or at the end of the day.
Your parents should also read our letter to parents which addresses some concerns about student independence.
Parent’s Seminars
All seminars will take place in the Twenty Chimneys, unless otherwise specified.
