Parking at MIT

Parking During the School Term and During the Day

Due to the scarcity of parking on our urban campus, we strongly encourage parents to drop off their students in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day. For large programs like Splash and Spark, we will often open up larger parking lots, which will be posted to that program's information page.

Parking During the Summer

For students who plan to commute to the MIT campus regularly during the summer, the following parking options are more economical:

Several MIT lots are permit-free after 5pm:

Parking Permit
MIT also allows frequent visitors to purchase a parking permit for $125 for the entire summer which allows you to park in West Lot all summer.

You can purchase this permit at the Parking Office, room 022 on the Basement floor of the Stratton Student Center.
