We will be running Cascade 2026 from October 3rd to November 7th! Applications to be a teacher or mentor are open. Learn more here.
| What? | Cascade is aimed at local Boston and Cambridge students (9th-12th grade). We recruit students from greater Boston-area schools and community centers, many of whom lack access to similar educational opportunities. | |
| Why? | As with other MIT ESP programs, Cascade aims to instill a love of learning in our students and expose them to topics they might not encounter outside of a traditional classroom. Furthermore, we also hope to build a supportive community and expose Cascade students to experiences that will have a positive impact on their life trajectories. Please note that all our teachers are volunteers and we don't provide monetary compensation, although we do provide lunch, t-shirts and a good time! | |
| When? | Cascade 2026 will take place on Saturdays from October 3rd to November 7th. Students will attend mentorship sessions, workshops, and hands-on, engaging classes. Teachers will teach be able to teach a 1 or 1.5-hour-long class. | |
| Who? | You, of course! | |
| Where? | On MIT's campus! | |
| How? | Hands-on activities, discussions, problem-solving, and other forms of interactive learning are essential to the classes. We welcome classes on all academic subjects, ranging from the sciences to the humanities. | |
