Cascade 2023 will take place in the fall, with more information to be released. Fill out our interest form to receive program updates and registration details.
What? | Cascade is aimed at local Boston and Cambridge students (9th-11th grade). We recruit students from greater Boston-area schools and community centers, many of whom lack access to certain educational opportunities.
Why? | As with other MIT ESP programs, Cascade aims to instill a love of learning in our students and expose them to topics they might not encounter outside of a traditional classroom. Furthermore, we also hope to build a supportive community and expose Cascade students to experiences that will have a positive impact on their life trajectories. Please note that all our teachers are volunteers and we don't provide monetary compensation, although we do provide lunch, t-shirts and a good time!
When? | Saturdays 10:30 AM - 4 PM in October and early November. Morning classes last from 10:30-12, afternoon classes last from 1-2, and mentorship 2:30-4.
Who? | You, of course! | |
Where? | To be decided! | |
How? | Hands-on activities, discussions, problem-solving, and other forms of interactive learning are essential to the classes. We welcome classes on all academic subjects, ranging from the sciences to the humanities.
