Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi everyone! My name is Karan Takhar and I'm a born and brought up New Englander. I was born in Providence in 1991, and despite refusing to learn how to read for 3 and a half years I became literate and attended the Gordon School in East Providence through 8th grade and the Wheeler School in Providence for high school. Along the way I picked up a wide variety of interests, including reading (who knew?) debate (I graduated from the screaming and kicking phase to the dress clothes verbal sparring very nicely), geography (Placed 2nd in the National Geography Bee finals in 8th grade), and math (then there's all the goofing off with friends and such but that's a story for another time). In high school I volunteered as a tutor/teacher in the math/sciences and I've been in love with the process ever since. I try my best to present difficult concepts in simple terms before building up and I always do my best to stay connected and engaged with all my students.
