C15253: Intro to Game Design in Splash 2022 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2022)
Ever wanted to make a mind-bending puzzle game, an awesome shooter, or a cute visual novel. In this class we walk you through the process of designing games, everything from choosing the genre to designing mechanics to making levels. At the end you get to (literally) sketch out your own game ideas using things you learn in class and maybe get some inspiration from your friends' ideas. In game design the only limit is your imagination (but a plan certainly helps ;))

P13873: Video Games History in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
Take a blast to the past as we document the development of video games throughout the past 7 decades (yeah, we going way back) Learn about the games that defined generations, the consoles and technology that made them happen, and the communities who played them. We'll cover every genre and every console (yes, even the late great Gizmondo) as we romp through the greatest hits and misses of the medium. We'll slow down and cover some critical points in the history of video games--like the Great Video Game Crash of 1983 and the creation of the ESRB rating system--and take a few side roads to learn about design and what makes these great games so great. Oh, and did I mention you get to play some video games? You get to play some video games!
