Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! I’m Ahmed, a PhD researcher in linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, currently invited PhD researcher at MIT. I study how meaning is represented in language and thought, especially how we understand meanings that are communicated without being explicitly said.

I’m fascinated by the logic behind everyday language and how surprisingly complex ordinary sentences can be. I’m excited to share some of the fun puzzles in semantics with you and show you that there is much more going on behind ordinary conversations than we might think!
