Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi all!

So my name is Angela. I attend Brandeis University a few miles west of here in Waltham, MA. I was born and raised in Queens, NY in NYC, and spent a lot of my time before coming to Boston in Manhattan. I am currently (as it looks) double-majoring in Neuroscience and Creative Writing at Brandeis, and at the time of teaching this class Ill be almost done with a writing workshop in poetry. I also won at least one Gold or Silver Key from the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards every year in high school.
So I swear I have at least some experience with writing and performing poetry. Creative writing is something I love because sometimes I feel too much turbulence inside and it just kind of bubbles out as poetry. And then I can manipulate it and make it say what I wanted to say but felt like I couldn't.

I know you're good at being you, so let me let you let your inner writer out.

P7990: Vocal Poetry in Splash! 2013 (Nov. 23 - 24, 2013)
Vocal poetry is written to be heard, not just read. If you have a lot of feelings, this class is for YOU. Come for humor! Come for tragedy! Come to explore your depths as a person--or not. Whatever your motivation, your voice is yours and I can promise a safe space for all voices to be heard. No experience with poetry or performance needed--there will be plenty of example videos, a shortish talk and many, many prompts--as well as time for performances of original poetry. Also snacks, because I love me some food.
