MIT’s Solar Electric Vehicle Team (SEVT) is faced with a unique challenge: design, manufacture, and construct a solar-powered vehicle from scratch to compete in a long distance endurance race. By long distance, we mean about 2,000 miles! Come check out how we accomplish such a task and how a solar car works! We’ll cover topics from the construction of our carbon-fiber aeroshell to the arrangement of the 416 Li-ion cells in our battery to the machining of our custom steering system.
