This course will cover how to write in all genres (graphic novels/long fiction/short fiction/screenwriting/poetry/etc.). For the first few weeks we'll talk about craft and different techniques for how to write. Then we'll switch over to a workshop - students will share their work with other students and we'll discuss ways to improve their writing together.

We're going to be working with a style of writing which doesn't use an outline and applying it to most mediums of creative writing (graphic novels, short stories, novels, etc). We'll talk about great artists who use/used this process (Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, the creative team behind the Katamari games and others) listen to music, do some free writing and generally talk about how to write.

An exploration an unstructured and outlineless style of writing. This will mostly be aimed at fiction writing, but I will briefly touch upon essay writing as well. We'll be doing some free writing, listening to music, listening to poems, and discussing various ways to strengthen writing.
