Brief Biographical Sketch:

Studying computer science and always making games. I've worked at a few gaming companies ranging from indie sized to large company over the past few years, as well as done research with the MIT game lab and in my own time.

Presentation on how video games are developed in the world today. Come talk about the art, sound, tech, and design of video games, and how you too can explore this wonderful field!


C7947: Artificial Intelligence in Video Games in Splash! 2013 (Nov. 23 - 24, 2013)
Ever wondered about the vast world of video games that the player DOESN'T control? Then come learn about the wonderful land of game AI! This class will focus on video game AI techniques and how modern and classic games implement them to present challenges to players. Will cover game genres including: RPGs, strategy games (RTS & TBS), shooters, and side scrollers! Come learn how games are made from navmeshes and state machines to emergent behavior, planning, and dynamic difficulty! (Not knowing one of many of these terms is perfectly fine!)


X6982: An Introduction to Video Game Level Design in Spark! 2013 (Mar. 16, 2013)
From the purpose and flow of a level to specific spatial techniques, learn the fundamentals of game level design! Examples of popular games and class discussion will be used.
