S14938: Nucleic Acids: The Symphony of Life in Spark 2022 (Mar. 12 - 13, 2022)
Not very long ago, when we watched health news, we often heard people talking about exercise, carbs, fat, and protein. Despite playing important roles in biological processes, nucleic acids have been the most overlooked group of biomolecules until COVID, when mRNA-based vaccines become essential in our effort to control the pandemic. In this class, we will take a closer look at the two main classes of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and how they interact with each other to form and propagate life on Earth through billions of years.
