S10583: Astronomy 101 in Splash 2016 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2016)
Are you an avid stargazer? Or simply someone who wants to know more about what's out there? Astronomy 101 gotchu. We will cover the basics of astronomy, from our local Solar System to our own galaxy, the Milky Way, before ending with a discussion of some of the latest endeavors in the field! All levels welcome, will involve minimal math.


M9885: Crypto & Cookies in Splash 2015 (Nov. 21 - 22, 2015)
Learn about the history of cryptography and how ciphers work, from the Caesar Shift and the Playfair cipher, to the Enigma machine and the ideas behind modern cryptography, as well as the methods to break ciphers. We'll practice a few methods in class to keep your communications secret. All while eating homemade cookies.
