Brief Biographical Sketch:

Isabel is currently a first year mathematics student at MIT, and is particularly interested in discrete math. When she's not solving math problems, she enjoys experimental baking, knitting interesting topological surfaces, swing dancing, and rock climbing.

Ever wondered how many numbers there are *really*? Ever wanted to beat your friends at any* game? *some conditions apply We’ll start by exploring some interesting questions about the nature of infinity, including countability and cardinality, and we’ll learn to work with ordinal and cardinal numbers. We’ll conclude by examining some surprising connections between these number systems and combinatorial games – and learning how to win them! :)
