E13784: Intro to Computer Aided Design (CAD) with TinkerCAD in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
Build anything you can dream in in a virtual environment! This class will introduce complete beginners to 3D-Modeling on TinkerCAD and provide you tips on how to bring your models to the next level.

L13967: Evolutionary Psychology: Why we act in the way we do in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
Why do we perceive something as beautiful? How do we choose our marriage partner? Why does heart start beating faster whenever we're nervous? In this discussions-based class, we will together explore fascinating evolutionary rationalizations behind human behavior.

Z13968: Learning about North Korea through films (including KDrama!!) in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
Let's learn about perhaps the most famous (or rather infamous) country in the world... people's republic of korea! I mean, what else is there about this country other than Kim Jung Un and his consistent blackmailing? How do regular people live? What kind of language do they use? (Is it different from Korean they use in South Korea?) The education system? How is social hierarchy determined? How do people escape? Why? What do they do once they are outta there? We will explore these questions through films, such as documentaries, escapee youtubers, and ... the *hot* KDrama Crash Landing On You!

L13970: How to deliver drugs in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
You can make all the fancy drugs (Acetaminophen? Ibuprofen? Oxycodone?) that *can* do amazing stuff ... but how do you get them to the right place? We'll cover the history of drug delivery and laugh at scientists / engineers who failed to deliver the drug to the right place AND admire those who were able to come up with cool, innovative solutions using chemistry / chemical engineering :o At the end of the class, we will also come up with our own drug delivery system!

A13594: Hair Dyeing: Theory and Practice in Splash 2019 (Nov. 23 - 24, 2019)
Have you every been curious about dyeing hair? In this class, we'll be delving into the chemistry, history, and art behind hair dyeing. We'll also be doing live hands-on demos (!!), and giving you the chance to color your own hair! (parental consent required). Wear clothing you would not mind getting stained.

S13093: Intro to Organic Chemistry in HSSP Summer 2019 (Jul. 07, 2019)
Did you ever wonder how medicines are made? Want to learn what those squiggly lines mean in chemistry class? Do you want to understand Breaking Bad on a whole new level? If so, organic chemistry might just be right for you! Organic chemistry, the study of the properties and reactions of carbon-containing compounds, forms the basis for biochemistry and the modern pharmaceutical industry. Despite its reputation as a challenging course, organic chemistry is, at its core, a creative science that uses very fundamental concepts to build up a toolkit for making very complicated compounds. This course will give you a primer to the most important material covered in the first half of a first-semester o-chem course. We will be moving quickly, beginning by looking at the properties of molecules that affect their reactivity. Following that, we will delve into reactions with different types of molecules such as hydrocarbons, alcohols, and haloalkanes. Finally, we will use this arsenal of tools to devise some simple synthesis pathways.
