Brief Biographical Sketch:
One day, my kindergarten teacher called me Joon instead of Joonho during attendance and the nickname of sorts has stuck. You can call me whichever. :D Before settling into East Campus, I lived the majority of my life on a rather flat piece of land called Long Island, New York. Here are some of the things I like (to do): - write (poetry) (especially at ridiculous hours like 3am) My weakness is that I become interested in a new thing every other week and proceed to spend an arguably detrimental proportion of my time on said thing. Past Classes(Clicking a class title will bring you to the course's section of the corresponding course catalog)A13945: Sing a capella with the Toons! in Spark 2020 (Mar. 14 - 15, 2020)
Come sing with the MIT-Wellesley Toons! We'll start with some warmups and fun exercises and learn an entire song by the end of the class. We're an a capella group, which means there are no instruments or accompaniments, just all of our voices (beatboxers welcome!).
(The Toons are MIT and Wellesley's only cross-campus a capella group. We're a group of friends that enjoy singing a wide variety of music together.)
B12683: Learn Japanese Instantly in Splash 2018 (Nov. 17 - 18, 2018)
We have two hours. By the time you leave, you'll know the entire Japanese language. (ok maybe not)
Prepare to speak a lot in the class! We'll be doing a lot of drills to make sure you speak like a true 日本人.
W12772: Acapella Sing-a-Long! in Splash 2018 (Nov. 17 - 18, 2018)
We’re the MIT-Wellesley Toons! Want to learn how to read and sing an acapella arrangement, or want to sing a bunch of fun rounds? Come sing and jam with us! No acapella/singing experience necessary :)
H11461: Intro to Linguistics in HSSP Summer 2017 (Jul. 09, 2017)
Linguistics is the study of languages at the broadest scale: over the course of six lectures, we will cover four major topics of linguistics: morphology, phonetics, syntax, and semantics. If time allows, additional lecture time may be used to cover other miscellaneous topics such as endangered languages, sign language, and language acquisition. This class will be a condensed, yet more relaxed version of MIT's class 24.900.
