Do you love music? Kpop, Rap, Pop, Country etc? Do you watch a lot of movies and tv? Are you interested in exploring your own identity? Are there social norms that you are passionate about critiquing? In this course you will be introduced to queer, bipoc, transnational, feminist theory. With feminist theory as a guide, we will explore how gender, race, and sexuality have been constructed and understood within a cultural domain of power and how intersectionality has been presented through media and popular culture and shaped our lives and identities. All who are willing to explore with an open mind are welcome!

Unrealistic Toxic Beauty Standards? Social Media is Ruining Our Lives? Celebrity Skincare? Performative Activism? Are we really “BE”ing “REAL? Body Positivity on Tiktok? Kardashians, Consumerism, and $500 SHEIN hauls? BTS, Bridgerton, Lil Nas X, Euphoria, TikTok, Instagram? These are examples of ideas, people, and places that we are going to do a deeper dive into during our time together. This class is all things Gen-Z. In this class you are given the opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics and to bring their own interests from their own lives. All are welcome!
