Brief Biographical Sketch:

I have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and several years work experience as an engineer and also as a database analyst.

Since the time I was a kid, I have enjoyed opening and meddling with things. This grew into building mechanical + electronic gadgets during high school days, college, and (luckily!) at work.

E9110: CHDK - Canon Hack Development Kit in Splash 2014 (Nov. 22 - 23, 2014)
Canon Hack Development Kit (CHDK) is free public license software that runs together with operating software of many Canon cameras. We will learn how to install it, and I will demonstrate (a) Remote triggering of a camera (b) Motion detection (c) Making time lapse videos. I will provide enough information that you can try these projects at home.


E9111: Arduino - Open Source Hardware in Splash 2014 (Nov. 22 - 23, 2014)
Arduino is "Open Source Hardware" .. an inexpensive microprocessor board with digital/analog inputs/outputs that you can program and use to build electronic gadgets. I will bring a few boards with me and show how to program the board as well as connect it to other electronic stuff. This class is for beginners to electronics and programming.
