Brief Biographical Sketch:

My name is Melissa Lau, and I'm a junior at MIT, majoring in course 9-- Brain and Cognitive Sciences. For over a year, I've been working at MIT's Center for Cancer Research, where my main project has been studying the localization of a novel protein. I've also started some cool things with zebrafish, and I'm always happy to tell people about my projects--so ask me if you're interested!

Besides lab stuff, during the school year I'm involved with the Hawaii Club (even though I'm actually from New Jersey), and since I love photography, I'm in the process of setting up a darkroom in my dorm! I also love physics, which is why I'm so excited to teach this year with my coteacher, Andy Brown; I know that we are both looking forward to not only wowing everyone with cool physics demonstrations, but also to sharing our love for physics with all our students!!!

This course will cover AP Physics C: Mechanics as well as Electricity and Magnetism. The course will go at a fast enough pace to cover all the material which will be on the AP test, and perhaps a little extra depending on time.
