Brief Biographical Sketch:
My name is Melissa Lau, and I'm a junior at MIT, majoring in course 9-- Brain and Cognitive Sciences. For over a year, I've been working at MIT's Center for Cancer Research, where my main project has been studying the localization of a novel protein. I've also started some cool things with zebrafish, and I'm always happy to tell people about my projects--so ask me if you're interested! Besides lab stuff, during the school year I'm involved with the Hawaii Club (even though I'm actually from New Jersey), and since I love photography, I'm in the process of setting up a darkroom in my dorm! I also love physics, which is why I'm so excited to teach this year with my coteacher, Andy Brown; I know that we are both looking forward to not only wowing everyone with cool physics demonstrations, but also to sharing our love for physics with all our students!!!
