Brief Biographical Sketch:

I was born to Robert and Bridget Kotson of Glen Dale, WV, on December 25, 1989. (No, I do not get fewer presents on Christmas. Yes, this is always the first question I'm asked.) As the second oldest of six children, I quickly learned the importance of teaching and helping those younger than myself. For as long as I can remember, I have loved math and science; in recent years, I have found physics to be the branch most suited to my abilities. I am one of those rare, slightly insane people who can have fun with an 8.012 p-set (physics homework in MIT lingo.)

I've only recently begun my education at MIT, so I've yet to declare a major. However, my ultimate academic goal is to earn a Ph.D. in some branch of physics, then get paid to wear a lab coat and perform revolutionary research... or to do slightly less important research in a slightly nicer lab coat.

For my first semester as part of the SAT-Prep program, I will be a Writing teacher. No matter how advanced a student's math may be, it is the communication of ideas that leads to success: This truth will lie at the core of all my classes, as I help each and every student master the fundamentals of grammar, vocabulary and persuasion.
