Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hello! I'm Mia, a Freshman at MIT studying Mathematics with Computer Science. I'm interested in possibly minoring in finance or environmental sciences, but I'm open to exploring new fields.

Currently, I'm participating in two research opportunities. The first is creating machine learning algorithms to model wind turbines and the second is analyzing data involving biomedical innovation. Both have further cemented my interests in CS, and I would love to share more about what I've learned throughout the spring.

I'm extremely excited to get to participate in ESP; I think teaching is such a unique way to explore concepts I'm passionate about while collaborating with like-minded individuals!

C14906: Using Computer Science to Model our World in HSSP Spring 2022 (Feb. 26, 2022)
Ever wondered how powerful computer science can be in predicting the world around us? The average computer alone can execute around 150 MILLION commands per second, and we're going to tap into that power to see some pretty awesome results! Using just a bit of math and a whole lot of programming, we'll be able to describe the motion of objects here on earth and in space, delve into finance-related topics, explore video-games, and a whole lot more! This course is the intersection of math, science, and computation, and if that's as exciting to you as it is to us, go ahead and sign up!
