Brief Biographical Sketch:

Prior to coming to MIT, I simplify did not exist.

I'm currently a graduate student in EECS at MIT with interests in practical quantum information theory and novel quantum devices. I graduated last year with my SB in physics.

S2791: Harmony in Hilbert Space and All Around Us (i.e., Intro to Quantum Mechanics) in Splash! 2009 (Nov. 21 - 22, 2009)
The goal of this class will be to provide a taste of one of the most useful physical theories ever devised (quantum mechanics) and how implications drive the engineering of modern devices (transistors, lasers, magnetic materials, etc.) and those that have yet to come (quantum computers and key distribution systems). Studying this subject will put you on the road to having a modern, fundamental understanding of how light and matter behave at the atomic scale. We'll introduce basic ideas in quantum electrodynamics as a way to understanding matter from very elementary physical principles. General quantum mechanics formalism: states, operators, Dirac notation, physical observables, and measurement.
