Brief Biographical Sketch:

Piper Nichole Henriques creates a wide variety of advertising for national, local and international clients. Her background includes: Digital Project Manager at NBC12 and working with Raycom Sports designing advertising for the ACC, the Atlantic Coast Conference. She was also Special Projects Manager for Raycom Media, one of the largest broadcasting companies in the U.S., which owns and/or operates more than 60 TV stations.

Piper teaches at New York University School of Professional Studies and the University of Richmond, School of Professional and Continuing Studies.

She has experience creating a wide variety of advertising: digital, web/mobile /app pages, magazine ads, print collateral and more, for hundreds of local, regional and national businesses. She previously managed the NBC12 website on the News content side and spent time running the ABC affiliate site in Richmond.

Her roots started as a journalist for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She has three books published nationwide (published through Adams Media/F+W and Career Press) and teaches workshops at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School.

Her art is sold through the Smithsonian American Art Museum store, Renwick Gallery store and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) store. Her art has also appeared in galleries, museum shows, libraries, corporate art shows and her art is part of the corporate collection at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), the nation's transplant organization.

She loves art -- from paint on your hands -- to digital advertising.

C10609: Creative Digital Advertising in Splash 2016 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2016)
Get insight to the ever-changing world of digital advertising! You will be introduced to the creative shift in advertising with new medias: video advertising, social media advertising, native content, advertising that follows your habits and interest and most fun of all, training on how to design digital ads. We will cover core concepts from finding the beautiful compelling image, to catchy words and creative campaign ideas. There will be instruction and a chance for you to work together with other students to come up with creative digital advertising ideas for an engaging, interesting and educational experience. This new, interactive form of advertising has changed the industry.


A10610: Painting: Freedom of Expression & Creative Thinking in Splash 2016 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2016)
You will be surprised what you can learn from creating art with your hands. You don't have to be a trained painter or an "artist" -- you just have to have the desire to try something new and artistic. This class gives you a chance to create an artwork -- painting, sketch, or mixed-media collage. This class is about giving you exposure to the arts and understanding that anyone can be creative -- and ways to use creativity in your every day life and how creative thinking can help you in your future career.

The goal of this class is to introduce you to web design for desktop and mobile. It will also touch on mobile app designs. You will learn the way digital can also be very beautiful and artistic. It is web design made easy and also shares about trends in graphic design and responsive design.
