Brief Biographical Sketch:

Ryan is a student from Barrington, Rhode Island, who studies Computer Science and is a Resident Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He programs in Java, Python, Scala, and derivatives of C. He enjoys backpacking through New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts, and playing recreational soccer. He is an avid Fantasy Football player who spends most of his free time doing homework, discussing the fine points of discrete mathematics, and debating the philosophy of whether we exist or not until the wee hours of the morning. Last summer he taught programming at Bentley University.

C9592: Making a Minecraft Mod with Java and Forge in Splash 2015 (Nov. 21 - 22, 2015)
Interested in computers? Want to make a cool item in Minecraft? Do you know basic programming skills? Then this course is for you! In this class, we will be creating basic items in Minecraft for you to use in your game! Reinforce your programming skills through practical object-oriented programming by making swords that strike lightning or create an explosion! At the end of this class, you will have the code for your item as well as a JAR file that you can use at home or give to your friends!


X8844: Minecraft Machines in Splash 2014 (Nov. 22 - 23, 2014)
Do you play Minecraft? Its a fun game that is rumored to even be educational. In this course I will teach you how to create machines in Minecraft using Redstone. My focus will be on logic switches, clocks, and their interactions with other objects.
