Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hailing from the midwest, Becky loves to play ice hockey. She also fights for social justice attending protests and organizing events and actions. She is especially passionate about fighting for a just transition away from fossil fuels to combat climate change, women's rights, and a world without nuclear weapons.
As for school, she found the awesome power of atomic interactions incredibly fascinating and majored in Mech. Eng. with a concentration in Nuclear Science and Eng. Her specialty is heat transfer. Her research project is on an advanced reactor design called the Fluoride-salt-cooled High-Temperature Reactor.

If you are alive, you get free money. It could cure poverty, end global warming, reduce violence and more. A basic income is an income unconditionally given to all citizens on an individual basis, without any strings attached or requirements to be met. We'll cover the following material before debating whether a basic income is a good idea and how it might best be implemented: policy aspects of instituting a basic income in the United States, recent history, and how basic income is viewed from different ideological perspectives.
