Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a graduate student in oceanography at MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. I study the physics of ocean currents and dynamics of the climate system. I'm also interested in poetry, politics, philosophy, the past, and lots of other things that do not necessarily begin with the letter P.

Did you ever wonder what people mean when they talk about "global warming" or "climate change"? This course will talk about what the climate is, how it works, and how we measure it. This lets us know something about how it has changed in the past, how might it change in the future, and how humans effect that.
