Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hey everyone! I am a freshman at MIT. I plan to study mechanical engineering with a concentration in biological engineering. I am from Northern Virginia (yes, there is a distinction). I am an only child. My family is originally from Bangladesh, but I was born and raised in northern Virginia.

I have been a dancer all my life. I initially started with ballet and jazz. Then, I branched into Bollywood fusion which mixes classical Indian, Bollywood, and hip hop. Currently, I train in a classical Indian dance style called Kathak. I am obtaining a degree in Kathak from a dance college in India. I am on my 5th exam out of 7 exams to obtain the degree. Dancing is my passion. It is how I stay connected with my culture and how I express myself. Presently, I am on the MIT Chamak Dance Team as well!

Aside from dancing, I also love to watch movies and travel. My favorite book series is the Harry Potter series (hence the picture!). I am also a language enthusiast, and I can speak 3 languages (Bengali, English, and Spanish).
