M13761: "Coincidences" in planar geometry in HSSP Spring 2020 (Feb. 29, 2020)
We're going to explore scenarios where seeming unrelated points and lines "coincide". Examples include Pascal's theorem, Brianchon's theorem, and the five centers of a triangle. We're also going to introduce machinery to prove these results. Expect a lot of pictures and surprises.

M13225: Lanchester War Model in Splash 2019 (Nov. 23 - 24, 2019)
Military fans often argue about the commanding skills of various armies and generals. Did the Soviets win through tactics, or through shear manpower? How did Rommel compare to Eisenhower in terms of military strategy? We will attempt to answer these problems from a mathematical point of view.

M13081: How to factor sin x? in HSSP Summer 2019 (Jul. 07, 2019)
This class will cover how to factor polynomials...but no just for polynomials! We will use factoring to "prove" the identity $$\sum_{i = 1}^{\infty} \frac{1}{i^2} = \frac{\pi^2}{6}$$ , and see how, after 150 years, did people finally realize that the method he used is correct. Featuring singularities, complex numbers, and crazy integration!
