Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! I'm teaching this class as a member of the MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team (SEVT), which builds and races a solar-powered car every two years. Hope this will inspire your interest in sustainable energy!

Outside of SEVT, I enjoy teaching, and I've had the opportunity to take multiple TA positions during my time at MIT. Growing up in Alabama has SPARKed my passion for equipping the next generation with the resources and mentorship to succeed.

E14299: How Does a Solar Car Work? in Splash 2020 (Nov. 14 - 15, 2020)
MIT’s Solar Electric Vehicle Team (SEVT) is faced with a unique challenge: design, manufacture, and construct a solar-powered vehicle from scratch to compete in a long distance endurance race. By long distance, we mean about 2,000 miles! Come check out how we accomplish such a task and how a solar car works! We’ll cover topics from the construction of our carbon-fiber aeroshell to the arrangement of the 416 Li-ion cells in our battery to the machining of our custom steering system. The team is excited to meet you:)
