W15949: Holograms and Anamorphic Art – Mathematics behind the Illusions in Spark 2024 (Mar. 16 - 17, 2024)
In this walk-in activity, participants will use mathematical concepts as a framework for creating their own math/art projects. In one project, participants will build a hologram pyramid projector and create an image hologram with a tablet or a mobile phone. Another project uses translations and reflections on a square grid and circular grid to create an anamorphic art picture. The word anamorphism refers to a distorted projection or drawing which appears normal when viewed from a particular point or with a suitable mirror. Participants will create their own anamorphic art.
