Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am going into my junior year at UNC, where I study biology and psychology as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. I am heavily involved in clean air advocacy and raising awareness for lung diseases as I suffer from severe asthma. As part of my advocacy, I have founded UNC’s first and only club focused on lung diseases. In addition, I have presented my Lung Health presentation to local middle and high schools, founded and ran several asthma walks, and was honored by President Obama in 2016 by standing with him as he announced his Clean Power Plan due to the advocacy work of my family and I. In 2019, I held an internship at the National Institute of Health in the Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute where I researched the overlap of Sickle Cell Disease and asthma. Finally, I have taught Lung Health 101 with Splash UNC, and am excited to teach it again for ESP!
