Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! I'm an MIT sophomore double-majoring in math and computer science. I'll be a teaching assistant for Math for Computer Science in fall 2020 and would love to share my knowledge with ESP students! I'm originally from North Carolina and enjoy singing and running in my free time. I am a member of MIT Chamber Chorus, the Asymptones a cappella group, and Running Club.

M13990: Discrete Math for Computer Science in HSSP Summer 2020 (Jul. 11, 2020)
Have you heard of the Monty Hall problem or RSA encryption? Learn about a vast number of topics at the intersection of mathematics and computer science! Our class will feature binary numbers, cryptography, induction proofs, and recursion. We will teach you how to write proofs and calculate probabilities. This course was inspired by the MIT class entitled "6.042 Math for Computer Science".

Does Frozen or Frozen 2 have better songs? We will be listening to and singing songs from both movies, including "Let It Go," "For the First Time in Forever," "Into the Unknown," and "Show Yourself." If you are a Frozen fan or karaoke star, this is the class for you!

Like to sing? Want to sing fun a cappella music? Featuring "Reflection" from Mulan, we'll be teaching you how to sight-read music and blend your voices in a chorus to make up for the lack of instruments! No musical experience necessary. All are welcome!

We will be giving a quick overview of what machine learning is and the applications it's useful for! We'll teach some basic linear algebra and other mathematical concepts that are essential for building machine learning models.
