H14726: Queer Rebellion in Splash 2021 (Nov. 20 - 21, 2021)
Ever thought you were just different from everyone else? Did recognizing your queerness change your life or did nothing change at all? Have you ever considered why Pride is a thing? Do you wonder why (and/or hate it when) straight people say "I don't have a problem with gay people, I just hate it when it's their entire personality"? Queerness *literally* is rebellion--specifically to capitalist cisheteropatriarchy, which is the structural foundation of our entire world. Queer existence subverts power. Queer existence is powerful. It's not time to rebel, you always have been. Come through to learn more about your queer power. (content warning: we will be discussing mental, physical, and sexual health problems, including suicide, drug abuse, depression, a number of phobias and sexisms, and more topical issues that plague the LGBTQIA+ community on behalf of capitalist cisheteropatriarchy)

A14727: Gender? Never Heard of Her! in Splash 2021 (Nov. 20 - 21, 2021)
Gender???? Who is she! She sounds kinda fruity to be quite honest.... If you feel: tired, sick, embarrassed, fraught, dysphoric, euphoric, annoyed, artistic, hopeful, transformative, any type of queer way about gender, this class is for you :~) If you're cisgender, you might be confused at first, but you'll get there! Everyone is welcome to try on and perform some new genders (and take some home if you'd like) :D

H14283: Queer Critical Theory: Gender in Splash 2020 (Nov. 14 - 15, 2020)
Gender is a lie. It's not real beyond what other people tell us about it. Why do we identify with gender? What does it mean to transcend gender? If you've thought critically about gender in your own life or think you want to start exploring, sign up and join our open discussion of queer critical theorists and their ideas! content warning: topics might include mentions of transphobia, homophobia, cissexism, and other oppressions of gender and sexual minorities (but it won't be the majority of the class)

H14286: Queer Critical Theory: Sex in Splash 2020 (Nov. 14 - 15, 2020)
Sex is a lie. Both the act of sex and the idea of sex identity only have meaning as it is assigned by the people who gave them or taught them to us. What does it mean to expand our definitions of sex? How can sex be used to affirm or question gender identities? Do we need or want either? If you've thought critically about sex in any capacity, consider joining our open discussion of queer critical theorists and their ideas! content warning: topics might include mentions of transphobia, homophobia, cissexism, and other oppressions of gender and sexual minorities (but it won't be the majority of the class)

H14288: Queer Rebellion in Splash 2020 (Nov. 14 - 15, 2020)
H14048: Intro to the Arabic Alphabet in HSSP Summer 2020 (Jul. 11, 2020)
Are you entering college in the fall and planning to take Arabic? Do you play Call of Duty or other games that partially take place in Middle Eastern countries? Are you just so BORED at home that you started to think, "Hey! I should learn a language script that I have absolutely no experience in!"? Well, you're in luck! This intermediate (aka 2 years of experience) Arabic student will be going over the basic script, pronunciation, and some introductory conversation skills and vocab! Class will be taught in Modern Standard Arabic/Fusha (Classical). If you have ANY experience, be warned that this class is for very early Arabic learners (ie you will be bored).

Z13152: Gayness Is Defiance in Splash 2019 (Nov. 23 - 24, 2019)
Are you gay? Ever thought you were *too* gay? Are you interested in "gay culture"? Have you ever wondered why Pride is a thing? Have you ever heard straight people say "I don't have a problem with gay people, I just hate it when it's their entire personality"? Well, buckle up, kids. Gayness IS defiance and we're going to use evolution, psychology, and evolutionary psychology to prove why the capitalist heteropatriarchy fails queer people of all identities the most. Queer rebellion is in! (content warning: we will be discussing mental, physical, and sexual health problems, including suicide, drug abuse, depression, and more topical issues that plague the LGBTQIA+ community)
