C8157: Introduction to MATLAB in HSSP Spring 2014 (Mar. 01, 2014)
This course will give a general introduction to MATLAB, one of the most common scientific programming platforms used today. We'll learn about ways to analyze and display laboratory data and then try to build our own scientific models to simulate natural processes. Students are welcome to bring their own data or ideas for models or can work on developing one of the examples we use in class. No programming experience is necessary – MATLAB will be a new language for most people so we'll start from the basics and then let everyone progress at their own pace through the projects. At the end of this course, students will be able to use MATLAB for basic tasks and, most importantly, feel comfortable extending their knowledge using MATLAB’s extensive help library.

M5975: Calculus: A Whirlwind Tour in HSSP Summer 2012 (Jul. 08, 2012)
Want to learn calculus among other really cool mathy things? In this class we will start by introducing calculus and end up discovering a number of exciting things about numbers and mathematics, with far-reaching applications into all branches of mathematics.

M5796: The Glorious Gamma Function in Spark! 2012 (Mar. 10, 2012)
Ever wondered how to extend the factorial function to non-integers? How about how to solve integrals that you have previously thought to be nearly unsolvable? Well, now you can! The gamma function opens a huge new set of possibilities, from it's very purpose to a lot of unexpected uses for it.

M5370: Gamma Function and Zeta Function in Splash! 2011 (Nov. 19 - 20, 2011)
Want to learn how to compute $$\left(\frac{1}{2}\right)!$$? How about the sum of all the inverses of the positive perfect squares? Then come to this class where you will learn about functions
