Complete a consent form.
The form for Spark 2026 can be found here. Please complete it before arriving to the program! Importantly, this waiver has TWO PARTS: after the parent signs, the student will receive an email from Docusign allowing them to sign it as well. BOTH THE PARENT AND STUDENT MUST SIGN FOR THE WAIVER TO BE COMPLETE. |
| 2 | Enter the lottery.
No parents beyond this point! We require students to register themselves and select their classes independently.
The next step is for you to enter the class lottery. This crucial step makes you a Spark student. [FAQ] You will be asked to indicate which classes you prefer, and you should expect to be assigned to some of them in the lottery. There's no need to be first; anyone who completes Step 2 before the deadline is treated equally. |

Review your classes. Schedules assigned based on your lottery preferences will be released a few days after the lottery closes. We will notify you by email at that time, and you may then check which classes you've received. If possible, please whitelist the domain @esp.mit.edu to ensure you receive the email. Credit card payment will also open during this same period, and will be available at the student registration page. |

Adjust your schedule Make changes to your schedule during the First Come First Serve period, which ends on March 8. During this phase, you will be able to immediately enroll in classes that have space from the student registration page. |
