Honoring your commitment

Honoring your commitment

The most important thing we expect from our teachers is to come and teach their class (on time!) every session. Please be aware of program dates and times. If you're confused about anything at all, please contact us. If you know in advance you will not be able to teach a session, please arrange for a substitute. If you cannot find one, we can arrange for someone to teach the class for you. We also understand that emergencies and last-minute problems will crop up from time to time. If at any time you know you will not make it to class, please call us immediately. It is disrespectful both to the students and the administrators who make the program happen when teachers simply do not show up.

Please do not cancel your class days before the program starts. If an emergency or accident changes your availability, we understand—please inform us as soon as possible. Canceling classes greatly disappoints students who have signed up to learn from you!

Substitutes and Co-Teachers

If you are going to miss a scheduled class, you need to find a substitute. If you let us know more than a week in advance, we may be able to help you with this. In some cases, we can also help you find a co-teacher for a class if you're looking for one.

Satisfying the Minors Policy

For some of our programs, you will need to get a background check in order to teach. Please make sure you begin the process early: background checks may take up to 3-4 weeks to process, and your background check must be successfully processed before you may teach.
