Why Junction Changed

Before this year, Junction was a 6-week intensive program where students could take college-level courses in the evenings taught by undergraduate and graduate students. While ESP enjoyed running the program in this form, it became difficult for volunteers who were simultaneously full-time students to run the quality of program we want to provide for our students.

As a result, we decided to restructure Junction into a program we felt would be more manageable for a bunch of mostly undergraduate students to run in their spare time. During this process, we have done our best to keep the spirit and philosophy of previous iterations of Junction, although the focus of the program has changed from core classes to independent study.

We’re always open to feedback, and if you have suggestions for us to keep in mind for future iterations of the program, please let us know at junction@mit.edu.
